Miracle, 2018, Paris
For a temporary boutique on Rue François Ier in central Paris, Edgar Jayet took his inspiration from couturier Christian Dior and the fashion house he founded in 1947.
A mass of rocks torn asunder by crosswinds, shredding the Normandy coastline of his childhood. A mass of rubble heaped on the road to Liberation. A mass of stones which nonetheless, in the smallest gap, the tiniest crevice, the darkest day, allowed the House to be born and its many dresses to bloom, like flowers on a battlefield, marking an end to the devastation.
